They are nice when your money is "NOT" in their pockets, but when you have paid the story is different...

The Story...

My wife and I choose to buy a very expensive lounge, to make sure that it was quality to last. So we would never have to by another lounge again. But at Domayne quality is obviously at a much higer price than $5000.

When our lounge broke we contacted Domayne right away, and stated that there could be no other bargain, but to return the lounge. As we had only had the lounge for approximately 60 days and had done nothing to the lounge that could have resulted in it falling apart. We are two quiet people and treat our things with respect, we have don't have any kids, that could have jumped on it.

The Joke...

Domayne send a guy out to check, interestingly he tried to put the blame on us. The spot that broke, was my spot, and I am a 74 kg small slim male. Hmmm...last I checked, 50 % of Australiens are overweight and if a sofa from Domayne can only last 60 days with at 74 kg man. Well how long does it last the average 80 - 90 kg hard working man comes home to sit down??? I know for a fact, that we didn't treat the lounge rough, and when we hired a specialist, he confirmed that it was a manufactures fault.

One speacialist as proof, one to go...

Domayne insisted that they wanted to send their own independent speacialist, we agreed. Same thing as before, he again confirmed and specified even more, what the manufacture had done wrong. We contacted Domayne again, still insisting that we wanted a refund.

The law states...

The law clearly states that the costemer can only return the purchased item, if it is a manufactures fault. We stated that, but they still refused to refund us for the sofa.

Now you know how Domayne disrespect their customers rights, and how they will use any means to try to divert you to let them repair the furniture. You have rights, more rights then you may think, so don't let anything come in your way.

We will with no doubt win in court, but why do we need to go this far, when the law clearly states that we have the right to return a faulty item???
